Over the last 6 years of working as a Licensed Massage Therapist I’ve had the opportunity to work with some amazing Veterans. Before leaving the cooperate massage world and sharing in opening a small business with a fellow therapist, I had worked with a combat veteran who opened my eyes to the difficult journey our service men and women often have transferring back into civilian life.
When we opened All About You Therapeutic Massage, I made it a point to pursue continuing education that would help me help our heroes, as well as make our services affordable to those who have served us.
In 2016 I was made aware of GallantFew and their mission to provide a network for our Veterans and I set out to get our business to form a team and participate in the Run Ranger Run event. Through my involvement with our small business, I realize that our success is determined by the involvement and support of the local community, the same principal applies to the success of GallantFew being a force of good in the Veteran community. So, this year (2017) I wanted to bring GallantFew to the Kansas City area and get our community involved in an event to support our Veterans as well as alert our local vets of the mentor-ship program GallantFew facilitates. Working with Candyss and Karl to get our Freeze for the Fight KC event started has been an amazing experience and I hope that our efforts will encourage others to become Ambassadors and raise awareness for this organization in their community, because together we can and will change lives. I am GallantFew!
